Grant Researcher and Coordinator

We care directly for orphaned and vulnerable children and we partner with governments, NGOs, and leaders in every position in orphan care. Our wide range of programs allows us to support children whose lives we’d otherwise not be able to impact by sticking just to direct child support. That reach also gives us a wide range of grant opportunities that allows us to change the lives of children, families, and care providers around the world. This role ensures we stay organized in reaching a large number of grant opportunities and accountable to the donors for the use of their funds.

What this role is all about:

Grants support our annual fundraising eorts, allowing us to perform our work globally supporting orphaned and vulnerable children by elevating the way the world views the very basics of orphan care. Upon gaining a detailed understanding of A Child’s Hope programs and services, you will collaborate with the grant writing team in researching those funding sources who might best t our strategic objectives. In this role, you will also manage processes through maintenance of the Instrumental software. Lastly, you will oversee reporting back to donors about the use of funds through data analysis and report design. Throughout the process it will be essential that you attend regular meetings; maintain detailed records of your work progress; and coordinate among numerous projects, deadlines, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Research prospect funders and mission alignment
• Research existing Foundation Relations & Historical Funders
• Prioritize programs for funding
• Grant process management - keep all team members on track with tasks
• Reporting & Data Design
• Prepare grant update reports (quarterly organizational reports, 6 and 12 month impact reports)
• Data analysis - measurable data into reportable numbers and stories to be shared with funders
• Coordinate with marketing department for branded report designs and application materials

Requirements

• Superb organizational skills.
• Proficient persuasive and business writing skills.
• Ability to work well with others to create lasting and meaningful relationships
• Data analysis skills - creating charts, writing stories from quantitative and qualitative data
• Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize.
• Motivated to take on additional projects and solve problems.
• Comfortable with multiple tasks and projects at hand.
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
• Able to perform clerical duties, maintain les and condential information, and organize documents as needed.

• You should be able to read this list of tasks and competencies and gure out how to present yourself in a personal letter to us explaining why you would likely be a great t (even though you may be missing one of the attributes we are looking for). You would be able to know what would count as evidence that you are smart and capable enough to roll with us. If you just send a resume and not a cover letter and portfolio then you won’t hear back from us because you aren’t a careful enough reader to get the job (though you read this far, so you obviously will include it).
