What are the responsibilities and job description for the Law Enforcement/Community Liaison position at A Child's Place PA?
SUMMARY:
The primary role of this position is to improve law enforcement (LE) response to child abuse reports and to help facilitate communication with law enforcement and child protective services (CPS) personnel. This position will seek to extend relationships and facilitate education and training to all law enforcement agencies, CPS, and service providers within the community. Primarily, this position will reach out to LE departments and enhance the referral and investigative process for all MDIT members, including District Attorney, CYS, Victim Advocacy and Child Advocacy. Additionally, this position will reach out to service providers in the community with the intent to deliver information and education regarding child abuse, prevention, and overall, CAC information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Facilitate the forensic interview process, by interacting with LE prior to or after the forensic interview, answering questions as they relate to the CAC process.
· Assist LE departments in contacting the intake coordinator at the CAC, filing charges, and facilitating communication with CYS and the District Attorney’s office.
· Schedule individual LE department and community training with regard to forensic interviews, minimal facts, the necessity for medical exams and the possible outcomes of those exams, including the requirements regarding rape kits and direct practice with Emergency Departments and/or other healthcare providers. This can be done in collaboration with other ACP staff as needed.
· Attend monthly MDIT meetings, conveying essential components of LE.
· Assist the District Attorney’s office in creating or expanding county protocol to address the needs of all child victims of abuse within the county.
· Communicate with LE agencies to seek improvements in service at ACP.
· Provide outreach and education regarding child abuse and prevention to LE and community providers, which includes phone contact to schedule presentations and participation in community meetings.
· Maintain absolute confidentiality in relation to patient information and abide by all HIPPA regulations.
· Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Pay: $26.31 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 29 per week
