SUMMARY: The Healthy Parent Educator will administer an evidence-based parent training program, Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), for A Child’s Place PA, in Fayette County, PA. The Parent Educator will be responsible for coordinating individual and group training sessions, promoting the program and recruiting parent/guardian participants. The Parent Educator will have an understanding of family systems, basic discipline techniques, and community resources; possess an ability to reach out to participants and create a relationship of mutual trust; and have strong social skills and a compassionate personality. The ideal candidate will be confident making organizational relationships with community leaders, in order to ensure integration into the community and promoting active recruitment efforts by partnering with other organizations. At times, this position requires the flexibility of meeting with clients, parents, and community partners during evenings and weekends.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend Triple P training and certification sessions
Schedule and lead weekly individual family sessions
Maintain participant records and reports for funding sources
Complete pre/post family assessments
Identify family needs and provide community resources to participants
Collaborate with other staff, parents, and community stakeholders to promote the program
Observe and understand parent behavior and report suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc.
Ensure fidelity to the Triple P curriculum through supervision and peer review with other staff members
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field or Social Work, Master’s preferred
Preferred, 3 years of experience with In-Home Service Provision
Experience recruiting and promoting programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Well-organized and committed
Creative and energetic
Must have a valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle
CPR certification is preferred by not required
Intermediate Computer/Technology skills
