What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Center Director position at A Child's Way?
- Be willing to work in a classroom
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ensures the adherence of the staff to policies and procedures set forth by A Child’s Way.
- Coordinate with the assistant director on staff reviews, and staff meetings and agendas.
- Be sure all children’s files have all the required paperwork and are kept up to date.
- Effectively manage the team of employees and lead by example.
- Provide any feedback related to staff about their work performance.
- Maintain a positive relationship with administration, staff, parents, and children.
- Responsible for following all regulations set forth by the Department of Social Services, pursuant to the mandated reporter and report ANY and ALL suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Responsible for the overall safety and well-being of the staff and children.
- Ensure all menus follow the Maryland Food Programs guidelines.
- Ensure all center supplies are kept stocked.
- Ensure staff follow ALL cleaning and health procedures set forth by the company.
- Ensure all emergency supplies are kept stocked and up to date (i.e., emergency/disaster backpack, emergency forms).
- Ensure staff are fully aware of ALL emergency evacuation procedures including routes for an evacuation, who to communicate with and how to communicate with everyone.
- Ensure payroll for each staff member is submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure all maintenance issues are reported to the right person(s) in a timely manner.
- Partner with the owner about any parent issues or concerns and be sure to follow ACWLC policies and procedures to address such concerns.
- Adhere to the company's privacy policy when it comes to staff’s personal files, staff’s pay, staff write-ups and children’s personal files.
- Supervise staff so they are responsible for the overall appearance and decor of their assigned classroom.
- Learn room ratios so that you can effectively move students to keep classes in ratio and send staff home when numbers are low.
- W*_illingly perform a multitude of tasks necessary for the effective operation of the center.*_
- Effectively partner with all employees of the company to foster a team-focused environment dedicated to the development and well-being of the children.
- Maintain required training hours for the position, in a timely manner.
- Ensure staff maintain their required training hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
