Hiring two people / Direct and Contract to hire
- Accounts payable specialist needed in Freeport, TX

- Pay is ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 up to $50k yearly depending on experience
- Employee will report directly to the controller
- Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices ensuring proper approvals and 3-way matches
- Schedule and process payments in a timely manner while optimizing cash flow
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies, collaborating with other departments as needed
- Address, respond, and resolve vendor inquiries
- Maintain excellent communication and relationships with vendors, employees, and management
- Perform month end accruals as related to job function
- Process and file electronically sales and Use Tax returns
- Assist with audit support
- Maintain and manage company’s credit card platform including auditing and processing monthly statements
- Escalate issues as appropriate and bring to management’s attention with recommendations
- Prepare analysis of accounts and producing monthly reports
- Perform administration duties with company’s phone system
- Cross train in other accounting functions and provide backup as necessary
- Practice continual process improvement with job function.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Associate degree in accounting preferred but not required with experience
- Cross referencing invoices to match P.O's.
- EXCEL EXPERIENCE
- AGING REPORTS TIED TO GENERAL ledger
- 3 years’ experience in full cycle ACCOUNTS PAYABLE processing and/or general accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Previous ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING SOFTWARE (ERP) systems experience with Sage X3 is a plus
- Detail oriented, organized, analytical and self-motivated
- Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Customer service driven, and a solid team player
- Excellent interpersonal, written and communications skills
