A&E Incorporated is searching for an experienced Punch Press Machine Repair/Maintenance Technician (1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing punch press machines, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and a strong understanding of preventative maintenance processes in a manufacturing environment.
HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL DO
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install/relocate, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery/mechanical equipment used in production and related services, including fabrication of replacement components.
- Safely perform rigging to move or install punch presses and other heavy machinery using hoists, cranes, and forklifts.
- Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments, including disassembly, inspection, machining, and repair or replacement of clutch, brake, and flywheel assemblies.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on punch presses, including motors, wiring, switches, relays, and sensors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all machines, including periodic cleaning and adjustment of clutches, brakes, lubrication systems, and alignment of mechanical components.
- Perform building/grounds maintenance and routine housekeeping activities.
*NOTE: Requires personal maintenance equipment and tools to perform duties.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
KEY REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ experience in punch press machine repair, maintenance, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- 1-2 years’ experience interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams and engineering specifications, and use of quality gauges and applications
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on punch presses, including troubleshooting and maintenance of clutches and brakes.
- Familiar with Verson, Clearing Niagra, and Bliss presses ranging from 35-500 Tons.
- Experience with flywheel, brake, and ram adjustments, as well as lubrication system maintenance and repair.
- Ability to operate various hand and power tools commonly used in the electrical, electronic, metal working and mechanical trades, as well as metal fabrication, welding, plumbing, and measuring equipment.
- Prior experience rigging equipment by operating forklifts and overhead hoists.
- Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations (i.e. lockout/tagout, machine guarding)
- Effective communication skills: must be able read and write clearly and concisely in English and understand/follow written work instructions and company procedures.
- Ability to use company communication tools, including email and Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds periodically throughout the shift and standing/walking/bending/squatting regularly throughout the workday.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; maintenance certification preferred.
