SUMMARY
The Global Relocation Specialist (GRS) is responsible for end-to-end management of all personal effect shipments. Shipments include tenders from Department of Defense (DOD), General Service Administration (GSA) agencies (including Department of State), National Accounts and private relocations. The GRS ensures personal effects are transported timely, seamlessly, and cost-effectively, along with providing a quality customer service experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- End-to-End Management as directed by the appropriate US Government Tender of Service and/or Commercial Account.
- Conduct introductory contact with transferee; provide initial welcome packet
- Confirm and coordinate origin packing services with Global Relocation Freight Forwarder, TSP, and transferee
- Collect all required customs documents from transferee for all international shipments
- Upload document to operational systems and share with Global Relocation Freight Forwarder
- Facilitate and complete all pre-pack, pack, load follow up calls/emails/texts to the transferee
- Consistently communicate shipment status updates to transferee
- Communicate and set shipment expectations with transferee ahead of pack and load
- Communicate policy exceptions and authorization requests to transferee/account
- Share and review survey results and service needs with transferee
- Track shipment status using the operational system and with the guidance from Global Relocation Freight Forwarder
- Monitor and Review data integrity to ensure KPI compliance
- Timely updates of operational systems with related information and documents that comply with KPI requirements
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to problematic shipment related situations
- Provide claims, shipment valuation guidance to transferee
- 3080 quality score follow up, collection, and submission to TMSS/ Interstate operational systems
- Offer support with shipment registration in operational system
- Offer support to obtain and negotiate final rates for Origin Service, Line-haul , Ocean/Air Freight and Destination Service Providers
- Offer support to provide shipment cost estimates to client for review and approval
- Offer support to update operational system to manage shipment financials; accrual adjustments when solicited
- Offer support to coordinate and confirm Pre-Move Survey Dates with transferee
- Offer support to arrange third party services
- Offer support designating Transportation Service Provider (TSP) for shipment movement and/or self-coordinate operational routing
- Offer support coordinating/confirming line-haul services at origin or destination; provide/collect documentation
- Offer support coordinating/confirming ocean booking with Steamship/Air Provider provide/collect documentation
- Offer support coordinating, confirming and advising Destination Service Provider (DSP) of shipment arrival; provides supporting documentation for customs clearance (INTL)
- Provide general departmental support, as needed

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to manage multiple external interruptions when working within shipments, i.e. switch from one shipment to another with ease
- Ability to manage, coordinate, offer support on multiple shipments without compromising shipment quality, efficiency, status accuracy.
- Excellent multi-tasking capability
- Make sound routing suggestions upon analyzing shipment locations and profitability
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office
- Working knowledge of international shipping chain
- General responsibilities may need to be completed outside standard business hours as a result of international time-zone demands
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
EDUCATION and/or EXPERENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business and/or Transportation) preferred or equivalent combination of education and industry experience. INTL Move Management and/or shipment coordination experience required.

Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend documents written in English to an above average competency. Ability to effectively present information to internal or external clients. Possess knowledge of professional verbal etiquette and written communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
General comprehension of shipment profit and loss concept and the ability to perform basic mathematical computations, including ratios, percentages and units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in situations.
