Interstate is hiring Seasonal Packing Specialists to join our team from May through August 2025! These are full-time positions based out of our service centers in Springfield, VA and Landover, MD. Refer a friend and earn a $100.00 hiring bonus after they stay on the team 45 days!
SUMMARY
Packs variety of household goods normally found in homes and offices manually by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans packaging containers.
- Lines and pads crates and assembles cartons.
- Obtains and sorts product.
- Wraps protective material around household goods.
- Inserts goods into containers.
- Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
- Closes and seals containers. Labels containers, container tags, and products.
- Sorts bundles or filled containers.
- Packs special arrangements or selections of household items.
- Inspects materials, items, and containers at each step of packaging process.
- Records information such as weight, time, and date packaged.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to speak and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
