Shipping Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the continuous flow of day-to-day dock activities.  Maintaining a quick and accurate pace in the management of inbound and outbound product.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Prepare and process routine forms and documents, such as truck maps, DVIR’s, shipping labels, etc. following standard procedures.
•    Printing pick tickets and labels (ensuring all pick tickets and labels are printed and ready for the selection team)
•    Collect, track, and input data relative to operations metrics (including but not limited to; shorts, miss picks, dumps/damages, and service level)
•    Audit all outbound paperwork, cases, and weights to ensure accuracy
•    Check documents for accuracy and completeness, cross reference information
•    Assist Transportation (help transportation in any capacity needed by management)
•    Check and assist to make sure HACCP procedures are being followed on the dock
•    Monitor inventory levels of office supplies

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•    HS Diploma or equivalent, 
•    Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Must have very strong urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
•    Requires the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.  
•    Ability to complete tasks under standardized situations with occasional variables.

Physical Requirements: 

•    Physical ability to lift, carry, and position:  up to 30 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
•    Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift.
•    Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
•    Working in multiple environments including office and ambient refrigeration and freezer areas

Work Environment:

•    Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements.
•    The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment
•    Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment.
•    Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, high and precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and high voltage electrical equipment.
•    The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
