POSITION SUMMARY:
As Technical Support at A.F. Wendling's Foodservice, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining IT systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance. Collaborating closely with the IT team, you will resolve technical issues, support end-users, and drive the implementation of innovative IT solutions that align with business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• System Installation and Maintenance:
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software, including servers, workstations, and network devices.
• Maintain and troubleshoot various equipment, such as POS systems and weigh machines.
• Monitor and manage network infrastructure to ensure uptime, security, and performance.
• Implement and maintain data backup and recovery strategies.
• Technical Support and Training:
• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.
• Offer training to end-users to ensure efficient and secure use of IT systems.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement robust security measures to protect company data and infrastructure.
• Conduct regular cybersecurity audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, especially regarding data security in sensitive sectors such as foodservice.
• Monitor and manage security certificates and VPN compliance.
• Project and Asset Management:
• Lead IT-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new software implementations.
• Track and manage IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Vendor and Procurement Management:
• Manage vendor relationships, including procurement processes, negotiations, and service level agreements.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting IT equipment and software to meet operational goals.
• Strategic Development and Collaboration:
• Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential benefits for the organization.
• Anticipate and report costs for replacing or updating IT equipment.
• Operational Efficiency and Performance Monitoring:
• Conduct regular diagnostics to ensure the functionality and efficiency of systems.
• Assist with ongoing IT initiatives to align technology infrastructure with business goals.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Associate degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or 3yrs equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in a IT role.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and network administration.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide technical support to non-technical users.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Microsoft 365 Apps and administration, a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and position: up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to 30 feet
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Working in multiple environments including office and ambient refrigeration and freezer areas
Work Environment:
• Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements.
• The job is primarily performed in an office environment.
• Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, high and precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and high voltage electrical equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
