- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document residents' health status, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed to ensure resident comfort and safety.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting their privacy, dignity, and individuality at all times.
- Engage in social activities with residents to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to develop personalized care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health regulations.Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes or retirement homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and behavior management techniques is a plus.
- Ability to drive is beneficial for transporting residents when necessary.
- Certification in First Aid is desirable; training may be provided if not already certified.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying abilities, including those with disabilities.
- A compassionate approach towards elderly care, demonstrating patience and understanding at all times.
