Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Driving Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating students on safe driving practices, traffic laws, and vehicle operation. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the driving skills and habits of future drivers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom instruction on driving theory, traffic regulations, and safety protocols.
- Provide hands-on driving instruction in a vehicle, guiding students through practical applications of their classroom knowledge.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their driving skills.
- Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, addressing any behavioral issues promptly and professionally.
- Communicate clearly with students regarding expectations, goals, and performance evaluations.
- Stay updated on state driving laws and regulations to ensure compliance in teaching practices.
Qualifications
- Have a high school diploma.
- Hold a valid transcript reflecting successful completion of six (6) semester hours of courses approved by the Virginia Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
- Have at least five years of driving experience and a driving record with no more than six demerit points.
- Be able to successfully submit to a national criminal history record check, also known as an identity history summary check.
- Previous experience in education or teaching is preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of students.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to drive various types of vehicles while instructing students safely.
- Patience and adaptability to meet the needs of individual learners in both classroom and practical settings.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
