Responsibilities
- Unloading Granite Shipments: The operator is responsible for unloading granite slabs or other stone materials from containers, which can involve using forklifts.
- Unloading shipments of granite slabs or stone materials from trucks.
- Inspecting the quality and condition of the materials upon arrival.
- Recording and labeling deliveries for inventory purposes.
- Properly storing granite slabs in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organizing materials by size, color, or type for easy access.
- Ensuring materials are stored in a safe manner to prevent damage or accidents.
- Keeping track of inventory levels and ensuring that stock is adequately replenished.
- Maintaining accurate records of the materials available in the warehouse.
- Preparing and loading materials for customer orders or delivery to job sites.
- Ensuring orders are accurate and that materials are securely loaded for transport.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space to promote a safe working environment.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols while operating heavy equipment.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and help identify discrepancies in stock levels.
- Support other team members as needed to achieve daily operational goals.
Skills
- Operate warehouse equipment such forklifts to move heavy products efficiently.
- Experience as an order picker or familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment under the supervision of warehouse management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order processing.
- Capability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently as required by the job duties.
