What will you do?
The Fire Protection Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fire protection production department. Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, the supervisor will oversee all aspects of fire protection production activities, ensuring that safety standards are upheld and production goals are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the daily operations of staff to ensure smooth and efficient fire protection site operations. Develop team performance through coaching, mentoring, and providing clear direction.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and promote initiatives to improve production methods, driving efficiency and safety improvements within the team.
- Training and Development: Work closely with employees, providing hands-on training to safely handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Develop team members to advance in their roles.
- Operational Management: Oversee and participate in operational activities including the preparation, filling, picking, and dispatching of cylinders. Ensure the availability of products to meet customer orders while maintaining high standards of operational performance.
- Safety Leadership: Foster a safety-first culture by modeling proactive safety leadership and ensuring strict adherence to all safety protocols. Lead by example to maintain a work environment committed to zero injuries, emissions, and leaks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all team members are equipped to understand and interpret hazards related to various gases, cylinder sizes, and contents. Provide leadership in compliance with safety labels and tank color-coding regulations.
- Workplace Organization: Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all areas of the plant and lead efforts in 5S and lean projects to enhance operational efficiency and a clean, safe working environment.
Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a Gas Processing Plant or a related field, with a strong track record of team leadership and safety management.
- Certifications: DOT certification (must obtain within 1 year of employment), EPA 608 Universal Certificate (must obtain within 6 months).
- Skills: Experience with forklift, overhead crane, and clamp operation, or the ability to become certified within 60 days. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand tools and functional computer skills.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams in a high-pressure environment while maintaining focus on safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Safety: Proven experience in fostering a safety-conscious work environment and implementing safety training programs to minimize risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other basic process improvement concepts is a plus.
- Interest in Green Chemistry principles and sustainability practices.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to improving efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting sustainable practices within the production process.
Physical Demand Requirements:
- Physical Tasks: Regularly push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Computer Use: Frequently operate a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information, including serial numbers and operational data.
- Manual Dexterity: Engage in manipulative tasks (e.g., seizing, holding, grasping) up to 50-75% of the day.
- Environmental Exposure: Constantly work in environments with uncontrolled climate and some exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
