Job Title: Mitigation Department Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive leader with a passion for restoration to join our dynamic team as a Mitigation Department Manager. This role will lead the charge in delivering top-notch services related to fire restoration, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and asbestos abatement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day schedule and oversight of mitigation projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Guide the MIT team by setting clear expectations and providing the tools they need to excel.
- Train and mentor team members on proper restoration techniques and industry best practices to foster a high-performing, collaborative, supportive culture.
Emergency Response and Project Management
- Collaborate on emergency response plans and manage duties related to emergency calls.
- Conduct site inspections to assess damage and enact appropriate mitigation actions.
- Utilize Xactimate software to prepare detailed estimates, covering materials, labor, and equipment costs for residential and commercial water, fire, and mold mitigation projects.
- Work with insurance companies to negotiate settlements and define project scopes, adhering to IICRC standards and building codes.
Compliance and Safety
- Supervise the maintenance of all mitigation equipment and track supply inventory.
- Participate in the coordination of fleet vehicle maintenance and ensure all MIT vehicles are kept clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant team management experience and leading a mitigation department in the restoration industry.
- Xactimate estimating software proficiency.
- Deep understanding of the restoration industry, including water damage restoration, fire restoration, and mold remediation.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes and guidelines.
