Are you a proactive leader with a passion for restoration, a knack for inspiring teams and helping customers in their time of need? We are seeking a Mitigation Department Manager to join our dynamic team and lead the charge in delivering top-notch services related to fire restoration, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and asbestos abatement. This role will provide direction and coordination of all emergency services and mitigation field activities related to technicians, trade partners, subcontractors as well as estimating efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Together with the Production Manager, the Mitigation Department Manager is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day schedule and overshight of mitigation projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Guide the MIT team by setting clear expectations and providing the tools they need to excel.
- Team Development: Train and mentor team members on proper restoration techniques and industry best practices to foster a high-performing, collaborative, supportive culture.
- Emergency Response: Collaborate on emergency response plans and manage duties related to emergency calls.
- On-Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to assess damage and enact appropriate mitigation actions.
- Estimating: Utilize Xactimate software to prepare detailed estimates, covering materials, labor, and equipment costs for residential and commercial water, fire, and mold mitigation projects.
- Insurance Coordination: Work with insurance companies to negotiate settlements and define project scopes, adhering to IICRC standards and building codes.
- Project Management: Coordinate all aspects of emergency service & mitigation projects, including water damage restoration, fire restoration, and mold remediation, following IICRC standards. Monitor project progress, subcontractors, budget, and quality control. Prepare and submit permits as needed.
- Jobsite Documentation: Ensure complete documentation is recorded for all projects in Encircle software, including progress photos, PPE utilization, job notes and moisture mapping information.
- Compliance and Safety: Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Equipment & Supply Management: Supervise the maintenance of all mitigation equipment and track supply inventory. As required on occasion, utilize power tools, hand tools, and specialized mitigation equipment.
- Fleet Vehicle Upkeep: Participate in the coordination of fleet vehicle maintenance and make sure all MIT vehicles are kept clean, organized and properly stocked.
- Client Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Provide regular updates and address any concerns promptly.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant team management experience and leading a mitigation department in the restoration industry.
- Xactimate estimating software: Expert level
- Certifications: IICRC, WRT/ASD preferred
- Skills: Computer savvy including Outlook and Word. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the restoration industry, including water damage restoration, fire restoration, and mold remediation. Familiarity with insurance claim processes and guidelines.
- Background Check: Must pass pre-employment background check
- Driver’s License: Valid NJ driver’s license with a clean driving record
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
