Position Overview:

A Great Choice Lawn Care and Landscaping has an immediate opening for a Lawn Care Technician. We are based out of 100 Oakdale Rd Johnson City NY 607-729-3451

Provides services to residential and commercial clients through timely lawn care & landscape applications; diagnoses and implements corrective actions for turf and landscape issues; and up-sells services to existing clients. Experience making lawn care applications is a plus. This position has the opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities:
1. Maintains a clean driver’s license in order to comply with NYS regulations.
2. Applies products to turf and landscape, following application schedule, product labels, and safety procedures.
3. Fills out required paperwork and invoices timely.
4. Leaves notes and recommendations regarding application and visual observations.
5. Provides program information to existing customers.
6. Performs vehicle and equipment safety checks before leaving and upon returning to shop.
7. Maintains vehicle and equipment in accordance with company standards.
8. Calls current and potential customers for renewal and sales purposes on a schedule set forth by upper management.
9. Assists in keeping the facility clean and safe.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED, or 6 months to 1 year related experience, and/or training in horticulture and/or customer service or equivalent combination of above education and experience.
• Licensable and/or certifiable as required by federal, state, and/or local government.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Attention to detail.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.

An employee that is physically active, works indoors/outdoors, interacts with customers, and may be exposed to foreign substances (e.g., chemicals).

Regularly required to:

• Speak and hear.
• Use vision abilities for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus.
• Lift up to 50 lbs independently
• Push and pull equipment.
