Junior Prop Stylist / Samples Coordinator
Full Time | Direct Hire
Fully on-site | Fair Lawn, NJ area
Reporting to the Photo Studio Stylist, the Junior Prop Stylist / Samples Coordinator will support our client's creative team with producing high-quality photography for a range of categories which will involve set building, prop preparation, and styling, and taking ownership of the sample process. This will include tracking photo samples, checking them in upon arrival, prepping for photography, assisting lead stylist on set, and outbound samples once production is completed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take charge of sample preparation by steaming / ironing soft goods.
- Keep all samples organized and set ready and ensure that samples are returned to inventory once photography is complete.
- Build and paint studio sets as needed.
- Assemble furniture and props as needed.
- Shop for necessary props depending on project: furniture, building supplies, home decor, clothes, and perishables (online or in stores).
- Style soft goods for ecommerce product shots with prioritized efficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to style guide specs.
- Work as the point of contact to receive, review, and prep samples.
- Use a digital tracking system to check in samples as they arrive.
- Research the latest photo, video, and social media trends.
- Help maintain the organization of prop and sample storage areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be comfortable putting together set pieces (walls, windows, doorways), painting, and using basic power tools.
- Organized and highly detail oriented, able to spot discrepancies.
- Time management skills able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for design and style (photography, home design, and fashion).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer savvy; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to lift / carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for possible set material runs or prop shopping. Position will be reimbursed for mileage accrued.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
