What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver/PCA position at A Helpful Touch Homecare?
Responsibilities: - Provide personal care assistance to elderly or disabled individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities - Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting - Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature - Administer medications and assist with medication management - Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed - Provide companionship and emotional support to clients - Help with meal planning, preparation, and feeding - Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up - Escort clients to appointments or social outings Qualifications: - Previous experience in senior care or patient care preferred - Knowledge of assisted living, dementia care, behavior management, nursing home, home care, and hospice care practices - Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for clients' needs - Compassionate and patient demeanor - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to follow instructions and work independently - Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes or facilities Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
