Position Duties
The search committee seeks outstanding candidates who demonstrate the ability to teach foundational courses in our undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs. The successful candidate will teach four courses per term, including Introduction to Forensic Science and/or the Scientific Basis of Forensic Investigation, with the possibility of teaching upper-division classes. Candidates who can contribute courses related to pattern evidence, criminalistics, quality assurance/quality control, crime scene investigation and/or serology will receive special consideration. Departmental service is also expected, including serving as an academic advisor, mentoring student capstone projects, and representing the department in university-wide service opportunities.The successful candidate should possess an awareness of and interest in high impact practices in line with the mission of Jesuit higher education. Our department offers a B.A. in Forensic Science, a M.S. in Forensic Pattern Analysis, a M.S. in Biological Forensics as well as an interdisciplinary minor in Forensic Science. Compensation range: $51,000-56,000.
Candidate’s must have at least a MS in forensic science or closely related field to be considered for the position. Prior teaching experience is preferred, but those lacking such experiences and who are highly motivated to teach are encouraged to apply.
