Position Summary:
The Home Health Aide/Caregiver is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate in-home care services to patients in accordance with care plans developed by healthcare professionals. This role is essential in supporting clients' daily living activities while ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being. The successful candidate will provide personal care, assist with instrumental activities of daily living, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to all applicable state regulations and internal policies.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, Mornings Only (4.5 hours/day; 23 hours/week; 100 hours/month)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): showering, dressing and grooming
- Prepare and serve breakfast
- Perform light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, dishes)
- Monitor client's well-being and engage in friendly conversation
- Adapt communication to overcome language barriers
Qualifications
- Prior caregiving or personal-care experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills; patient and respectful demeanor
- Ability to follow care plans and report any changes in client condition
- Reliable transportation to Libertyville
- Basic English proficiency; openness to learning simple Malayalam phrases is a plus
- Physical ability to lift or transfer up to 25 lbs as needed
