SUMMARY:
The Material Handler Lead is responsible for handling, storing, and distributing materials and products within warehouse and production facilities. The Material Handler Lead will play a key role in ensuring materials are handled safely, efficiently, and accurately to support operations. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive willingness to get the job done. Fulfills material handling duties as directed by the Operations Manager. Works under direct supervision and according to CMC company policies and follows all safety procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Material Movement: Physically transport inventory throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. Electronically move inventory using Epicor ERP.
- Inventory Management: Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling, organization, and easy access.
- Inventory Planning: Review schedules for incoming shipments and create plans to put away material effectively.
- Inventory Control: Track and maintain inventory through regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Maintain and optimize inventory locations for accuracy and efficiency.
- Inventory Accuracy: Investigate inventory discrepancies using root cause analysis methods and drive discrepancies through to resolution.
- Stocking & Restocking: Monitor inventory levels and restock materials on a daily basis, using ERP generated reports. [JM1]
- Reporting and Metrics: Review inventory reports and provide updates on inventory accuracy and non-conformances.
- Receiving Materials: Functions as a backup to the receiving lead. Unload and inspect incoming materials, ensuring they match purchase orders and are in good condition.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all CMC and OSHA safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to meet operational goals and timelines.
- Recommend improvements to the associated material handling processes.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and work orders.

QUALIFICATIONS (education and experience):
- 3-5 years of related inventory, manufacturing, and ERP experience required.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Previous material handling experience within warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA standards in a warehouse setting.
- Intermediate or better experience with Microsoft office suite
- A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Working conditions are in a normal office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and stand; using the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lens. May require long periods working at a computer.
