At Leonard's Express, Inc. we are looking for a dedicated Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead who will improve our processes through proactive management of both people and quality control procedures. This is a full-time position. The ideal employee should display readiness to supervise employees, build the daily schedule and resolve any problems which may arise. In this capacity, the Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead should be prepared to evaluate solutions relating to but not limited to employee supervision, timeliness of employees and products, safety, cost management, productivity, company image, and customer satisfaction. All job duties must be performed in a way that promotes safe practices in accordance with Leonard's established safety programs.

The ideal employee will:
- Maintain weekday/weekend availability, Monday to Friday plus either Saturday or Sunday based on port operations
- Holiday availability if the holiday falls on a normal workday (additional compensation provided)
- Ability to strictly follow and enforce compliance with the transfer dock SOP
- Be forklift certified or be willing to be trained and certified
- Possession of a current and valid Class A CDL is a plus
The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Provides direction and supervision to warehouse staff across 1-2 shifts by delegating workload, managing their performance, and maintaining appropriate staff levels through recruitment, selection, and retention activities
- Manages physical inventory movements and storage to optimize efficiency, minimize rework and ensure product storage integrity
- Maintains the facility at AIB and GFSI standards
- Ensures that warehouse operations meet all OSHA and company safety standards
- Provides coaching and training/development as needed for warehouse supervisors and warehouse staff
- Develops procedures for continuous improvement to minimize bottlenecks and increase efficiencies in product movement
- Actively participates in choosing vendors with the optimal balance of price and service
Other ongoing responsibilities include:
- Creates employee schedules and coordinates the staffing of temporary employees
- Ensures invoices are accurate and billed on time
- Arranges for disposal or donation of rejected product returned to warehouse
- Maintains customer interface as needed
- Ensures that customer concerns are immediately addressed
- Collaborates with QA/QC Specialist on all activities to successfully pass third party audits
- Ensures that documentation on inbound and outbound loads are accurate
- Manages all warehouse equipment and coordinates required maintenance/repair service
