A Hug Away Healthcare, a veteran-owned, minority-owned, and women-led business with over 15 years of community impact, is seeking a Director of Operations / Chief Operating Officer to lead and grow our home health and hospice services. We serve patients of all ages and are preparing to expand into wound care and franchising opportunities. About the Role:
You will oversee and enhance the daily operations of both home health and hospice services while ensuring full compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a balance of hands-on leadership and strategic vision as you work closely with the Owner to expand services, patient census, and company footprint.
You’ll manage clinical and administrative staff, improve processes, and help spearhead growth strategies that will position A Hug Away Healthcare for franchising. Some weekends may be required, as this role is critical in keeping operations seamless and ensuring our patients and staff are supported 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day operations for both home health and hospice services.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance efficiency, patient care, and service quality.
- Manage and mentor clinical and administrative teams to maintain high morale and performance.
- Handle audits, inspections, and other compliance matters to protect the company’s reputation.
- Collaborate closely with the Owner to drive business growth, marketing, and franchising opportunities.
- Monitor key performance indicators, patient census, and financial metrics to identify growth areas.
- Represent the company at marketing events and establish strong relationships with referral partners.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in healthcare operations management, with a focus on home health and hospice.
- Strong knowledge of CMS compliance, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, and best practices.
- Experience in business development and strategic planning for company growth.
- Previous experience with EMR systems such as Consolo or Kinnser (WellSky) is a significant plus.
- Marketing experience and a successful track record of building referral networks.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
