Software Developer - Configuration Manager

a.i. solutions is seeking a high motivated Software Developer - Configuration Manager to join our team in support of the NASA Marshall Operations Systems, Services, and Integration II (MOSSI II) contract. This role will support planning future software build content and tracking feature allocations among builds and applications.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing the build and release of software following the MOSSI documented process
• Manage the lifecycle of source code within ClearCase and Git repositories, including branching, merging, tagging, and release management.  Ensure accurate version control to track all revisions, facilitate code reviews, and support software builds and deployments
• Debug issues with builds
• Install and verify software in the Development Test Environment to ensure proper functionality and integration within the system
• Manage the integration and release schedule of software builds across multiple development teams
• Ensure that build activities are planned and executed to support the planned releases.
• Maintain and collect software metrics as determined by the software manager.
• Ensuring all compiled software builds are reproducible.
• Complete build closeout activities and create build closeout reports for submission of build ready software
• Track software development activities and artifacts for in-process builds and help ensure that process steps and artifact preparation are taking place as expected.
• Support planning COTS upgrades (e.g., OS, database)
• Assist System Admins in repository maintenance.
• Maintain Development Test Environment Resources and user evaluation systems.
• Lead/support integration meetings with software engineers and formal test engineers to coordinate build completion and test-handover activities.
• Work with Data Management function to keep the software development information database up to date, which is a central information repository to keep the software and test groups in synch.
• Identify interdependencies with other project groups and help resolve issues.
• Identifying, proposing, and supporting the implementation of process improvements. This includes new tools (like Gitlab and others).
• Lead meetings to categorize, prioritize, and allocate software problem reports and identified software security vulnerabilities to software builds.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience with Software Configuration Management

• Understanding of software configuration management concepts and process

• Experience with ClearCase

• Experience with Gitlab

• U.S. Citizenship
