CNC Machinist - 3rd Shift

Overall Career Summary

The CNC machinist / experienced operator(s) conduct the manufacturing of railroad track materials via various stations within the shop. This position works at various CNC 3 and 5 axle machines. This position multitasks, collaborates with others, communicates with other work groups, and assists in projects as needed throughout the shop setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Utilize machines at various stations to complete a rail product

· Program CNC software and manage production from machine

· Troubleshoot any issues - inspect quality of finished product

· Utilize manual tools and equipment as needed

· Read work orders

· Read blue prints

· Read plans for machine specifications and product output

Qualifications & Skills:

· Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions

· Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change

· Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory

· Experience using a tape measure

· Experience communicating with others within a team setting

· Experience in labor within a heavy industry

· Ability to read and understand G-code

· GED / High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous CNC machine experience

· OSHA knowledge / certifications

Physical Requirements:

· Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.

· Must be able to lift and carry and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.

· Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

· Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day

· Must be able to work any shift, when needed.

2nd Shift = Pay Rate Shift Differential

3rd Shift= Pay Rate Shift Differential
