Job Summary
The Early Foundations Autism para plays a crucial role in supporting students with autism in an educational setting. This position involves working closely with teachers and other staff to create a nurturing and structured environment that fosters the academic and social development of children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children with special needs, particularly those on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing educational programs tailored to the needs of students with autism.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Work one-on-one with students to reinforce learning objectives that are on the spectrum
  • Monitor student behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and assist in maintaining an organized classroom setting.
  • Foster social skills development through structured activities and peer interactions.

Experience

  • A background in early childhood education is preferred, with knowledge of childhood development principles.
  • Experience working with students, particularly those with autism or other special needs, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and classroom management techniques is advantageous.
  • Previous childcare experience, especially in a daycare setting, is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
  • Experience in behavior management strategies will be considered a plus.
