This position will ensure adherence to our mission of bringing the best and most trusted in early childhood education and child care services to the families we serve. We are seeking an individual who is energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possesses great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation.

We are a Quality Rated and looking for a Director to lead us to NAEYC accreditation. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibilities for supporting the owner, executive director, and leadership in supporting, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the center to include HR, on boarding of staff, health and safety, marketing, enrollment, and financial wellness, staffing, training and retention, campus management, and delivery of high-quality education and care.
  • Maintain strong relationships with our families, faculty, and vendors
  • Manage budgets, licensing, and marketing initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain a safe and enjoyable culture while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions for each position in the center, including, but not limited to, other Leadership Team positions, teacher, Food Service, Teacher, and Bus Driver.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or in a related field
  • 3-5 years of Director experience in a licensed childcare facility
  • Strong background in state licensing regulations, staffing, enrollment and budget management
  • Demonstrated highly-effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated responsibilities in overseeing all preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations.
  • A proven track record in hiring, developing, and retaining staff
  • Strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and the community
  • Knowledge of the following programs: GA Pre-K, CACFP, BFTS Licensing Rules, ProCare, Quality Rated, NAEYC, and ability to lead family engagement and other initiatives in collaboration with partners.
  • Proficient in the use of technology

This is a support role:

Responsible for supporting the owner and leadership team in the operation and instructional leadership at the center. Trains and supervises staff sets instructional objectives and works to build a rapport with parents.

Also responsible to plan, organize, implement, coordinate, and control services of the center, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including programs involving GA PreK, CACFP, NAEYC, Quality Rated, and other programmatic work. Knowledge of DECAL compliance and licensing requirements, budgets, policies, procedures, and staff supervision is required. Under general supervision, this person will operate the program in conformance with institutional regulations and state licensing provisions. Responsibilities include the overall management of the center's early childhood program and its operation, facilitating, planning, and coordinating the children's educational programs and activities.

The candidate should be familiar with GELDS, NAEYC, and Quality Rated and be able to support the staff in a meeting, leading, and maintaining accreditation.The ability to secure additional state training is an essential requirement. Additional essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Train, encourage, and mentor teachers and other staff.
  • Maintain rapport with parents.
  • Handle tours and marketing
  • Work actively with teachers to maintain high curriculum standards.
  • Formulate mission statements.
  • Establish performance goals and objectives.
  • Explain or answer procedural questions.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate teachers.
  • Visit classrooms and observe teaching methods.
  • Examine learning materials.
  • Review instructional objectives and adjust accordingly.
  • Meet with other administrators, parents, and community organizations.

Goal
This center is preparing for NAEYC accreditation and is currently a Quality Rated center. The incoming individual will carry out the vision to work with admin and staff to maintain a three-star Quality Rated level and maintain NAEYC accreditation.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement program operating policies and activities as required
  • Plan, develop, schedule, and/or provide in-service training and evaluation of child care staff.
  • Effectively run and manage all aspects of the childcare center with professionalism and efficiency
  • Commit to Farm to ECE
  • Ensure that the center and staff conform to federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Recruit and schedule children for the child care center; maintain accurate records on children enrolled in the program to include their development, attendance, immunization and general health; conduct program registration, and maintain appropriate files and waiting lists.
  • Prepare reports to Child Protection Services and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all children cared for at the college.
  • Confer with parents on a regular basis to discuss the development of their enrolled children.
  • Conduct marketing campaigns, maintain public relations with parents, prospective clients
  • Knowledge of ProCare is helpful, but not required. Record all fee payments and prepare billing late payments and follow-up actions when necessary.
  • Conduct fund-raising activities; implement contracts with child care funding agencies.
  • Assist child care center staff in preparing for and presenting early childhood programs and activities; direct the organization and follow-up of special activities such as off-campus field trips; assist as necessary with other duties.
  • Ensure that problems encountered by staff are resolved; alter policies or procedures to ensure smooth operation of program.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all employees of the child care center and is responsible for the performance management and assists with the on boarding of new staff within the center.

Work Environment
The position will interact with children in early learning classrooms on a daily basis. You must have excellent people skills and the ability to work with families, many of whom come from stressful environments. The overall environment should be kept positive. There is a high degree of accountability.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work and days are generally Monday- Friday, varying hours; Salaried position. Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during center hours. Also, the candidate must be flexible with hours to meet the needs of the center. The ability to work some double shifts (open to close) is required.

Salary : $40,600 - $55,700
