Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and grooming tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are reported to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers while maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences of clients.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during all activities.
- Perform catheter care and other personal care tasks as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health care or assisted living settings is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring, is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a larger care team is essential.
