Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, memory care facilities, and home care environments. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting with daily living activities and medical needs.
Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Support patients in mobility and transferring between beds, wheelchairs, and other locations.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, particularly those with dementia or memory-related issues.
- Assist in feeding patients as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in various settings, including Level II Trauma Centers and medical-surgical units.
- Engage in ongoing training and education related to infectious disease care and working with individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
- Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant certification.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Experience or familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in home care or working within a hospital setting is advantageous.
- Understanding of dementia care practices and techniques for providing memory care support.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting patients with mobility.
