Position Title: Service Technician Location of Position: Sevierville FLSA: Hourly Reports To (Title): Service Manager Approved by: HR Date: 10/5/2021 Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose or primary objective of this position. Processes work orders, determines needed repairs or modifications, and executes those to company standards and to customer satisfaction. Major Functions and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function or responsibility explaining the scope of the position as appropriate. Primary Responsibilities: • Locates and repairs frayed wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring by using ohmmeters, soldering irons, tape and hand tools, including by not limited to servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, testing machines/devices and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical, electronic or hydraulic principles.
- Locates and repairs plumbing or propane gas lines with caulking compounds, repair/replace plastic or copper pipes using pipe wrenches to stop leaks. • Connects electrical systems to outside power sources and activates switches to test the operation of appliances or light fixtures. • Connects water hoses to inlet pipes of plumbing systems and tests operation of toilets or sinks. • Diagnoses and repairs furnace or air conditioning systems.
- Tags all parts with repair order #, customer last name, and technician employee number. • Ensures tickets are given to service advisor for notification when repairs complete. • Orders all authorized parts. • Keeps work area clean, returns shop tools to correct location.
- Maintains an average efficiency of 70% for each month. • Performs other duties as needed and as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements: • High school diploma or GED required. • Mechanical, electrical, or HVAC certification preferred but not required.
- Previous experience servicing automotive, RV, or motor sports equipment preferred. Physical Requirements: • Uses hands and arms to install, position, and manipulate parts of camper. • Climbs, lifts up to 50 pounds, balances, stoops while making repairs to units.
