We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Correctional Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals within our correctional facility. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial health assessments on newly admitted inmates to determine their healthcare needs.
- Provide ongoing healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and record patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Respond to medical emergencies within the facility and provide appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Adhere to all healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations within the correctional facility.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in [Specialty] (e.g., Adult, Family, Psychiatric, etc.).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting; correctional healthcare experience preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting health assessments, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a correctional environment.
- BLS/ACLS certification (current).
- Understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
