Manufacturing Engineer (Engr 2, Mfg)
Location : Durham, NC
Pay Rate : $48.61 per hour
Position Summary :
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Manufacturing Team in meeting production schedules and delivering high-quality products to BD Parata’s customers. This role will also provide support to the Logistics Team in creating HTS Codes (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) for international products and parts. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Work Schedule :
Monday – Friday, Day Shift
Onsite Daily – Locals Only
Key Responsibilities :
Gain a deep understanding of BD Parata products and internationally shipped / received parts used in manufacturing.
Identify and gather necessary information for Customs classifications from BD Parata systems, websites, and cross-functional departments such as Engineering and R&D .
Support new product introductions and existing product changes impacting manufacturing by utilizing the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and other tools.
Provide manufacturing floor operations support , including :
Improving and maintaining Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) .
Leading or supporting Lean initiatives to enhance cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the source .
Improving and maintaining Kanban and replenishment processes to ensure continuous component availability.
Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accurate parts usage in manufacturing.
Leading or supporting continuous improvement efforts in manufactured product quality.
Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology , or a related field. Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree .
1-2 years of relevant work experience with a BS degree.
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills .
Excellent verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills , with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Appreciation and awareness of Manufacturing demand and prioritization .
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.

Ability to work closely with others and provide work direction in high-demand situations.
