Job Description:
This position involves taking inbound calls from members, providers, and other parties, providing professional phone assistance through the prior authorization process. The Pharmacy Technician will document approvals and denials accurately and transfer clinical questions to the pharmacist.
Pharmacy Technician Schedule & Location:
- Work from Home (Remote) Position
- Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST (for 4 weeks)
- Regular Schedule After Training: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST (8-hour shift assigned)
Pharmacy Technician Salary/Wage:
- $17.38 per hour
Pharmacy Technician Duties:
- Handle inbound calls from members, providers, and other parties
- Provide customer support and navigate prior authorization processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of approvals and denials
- Perform data entry and navigate multiple computer applications
- Work independently in a productivity-driven environment
Pharmacy Technician Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician in an administrative support role
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification or state registration/certification/licensure as required by state regulations (must provide license number and screenshot)
- Previous work-from-home experience preferred
- Must have a quiet, separate workspace and wired internet meeting 25 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload
- Ability to type at least 30 WPM and handle data entry efficiently
- Strong customer service skills (written and verbal)
Pharmacy Technician Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and focus for the duration of the shift
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Pharmacy Technician Education:
- Verifiable High School diploma or GED required
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification or state-required licensure
