Product Development Engineer Compensation
The pay for this position is $47.22 per hour.
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.
Product Development Engineer Highlights
This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire permanently based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
The required availability for this position is Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM on-site, with Friday remote but must be flexible to come in if needed.
Product Development Engineer Responsibilities
Execution for Qualification of Medical Devices, including Design Verification, Design Validation, and Design Transfer activities.
Creating, editing, and interpreting technical drawings.
Functional Device Testing and Testing by Analysis.
End User Validation Testing.
Technical writing (protocols, reports, work instructions, presentations, etc.) and effective verbal communication.
Application of engineering principles for design / analysis.
Statistical analysis and sample plan development.
Identifies external technologies and critical strengths and weaknesses.
Continuous Learning and participation in external activities to enhance brand recognition.
Demonstrating and cultivating accountability, effective communication, organizational influence, and decisiveness despite ambiguity.
Product Development Engineer Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical device or other regulated industry, OR an Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
High School Diploma or GED.
Design Verification experience (Protocol Generation, Report Writing, Testing Strategies).
Proficient in statistical methods / tools.
Proficient in solid mechanics / mechanics of materials.
Familiarity with traditional and modern fabrication techniques.
Knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to the design of medical devices, including FDA QSR 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and ISO 80369, and collateral standards.
Mandatory attendance for the first 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge
Graduate degree (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar.
3 years of post-educational experience in Medical Device.
Sought as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in one or more areas of expertise.
