Job Description :
The QC Associate I is responsible for performing routine, accurate, and timely testing of QC samples following standard protocols and operating procedures, including flow cytometry-related protocols. The role requires prioritizing daily workload and working independently. Responsibilities also include reviewing data, reporting results, and maintaining all required documentation and database entries. The associate will receive specific instructions and ongoing guidance regarding tasks and expected results.
Key Responsibilities :
Train and become proficient in required techniques, equipment operation, and software packages associated with testing, data analysis, and reporting. Tasks may involve handling human blood, mammalian cell culture, and / or animal tissues.
Perform routine QC tests accurately and in a timely manner under supervision and per standard protocols or procedures.
Prioritize daily workload and develop independent work capabilities.
Analyze data, report test results, and complete necessary documentation and database entries per QC protocols.
Calibrate and maintain equipment; report issues to the QC Supervisor or Manager.
Prepare supplies and reagents and assist with laboratory maintenance as needed.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment, adhering to Environmental, Health & Safety guidelines. Notify supervisors and safety officers of hazardous conditions or unsafe practices.
Participate in department projects, cross-training, and team collaborations as required.
Perform additional related duties and assignments as needed.
Education & Experience :
Required : BA / BS degree in a related scientific discipline OR some related college coursework with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a biotech lab environment.
Preferred : Experience in an industrial or research laboratory setting.
Required : Flow Cytometry experience.
Highly Preferred : Tissue Culture experience.
Knowledge & Skills :
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel & Word.
Understanding of general laboratory safety practices.
Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and logs.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
