Title: Systems Analyst V – Quality Assurance Analyst
Location: Lansing, MI (2-days onsite, 3-days remote Hybrid Schedule)
Note: This is a W2 contract role – C2C & 3rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the developed solution meets business requirements, is free of defects, and it’s quality is achieved. The QA Analyst works independently to identify and define required tests, as well as capture detailed testing progress, defects, and results during each testing cycle and evaluates the overall usability of IT solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Understanding project scope and working with the Business Analyst to ensure adherence to the objectives set for the project
- Adhering to the project schedule by developing test cases and completing Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) in accordance with the schedule
- Working with User Acceptance Test (UAT) testers and conducting UAT training sessions along with Business and Product Owners
- Ensuring appropriate resolution of critical IT issues as it pertains to the QA role
- Ensuring all QA responsible SEM documents identified for the project are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes
- Participating in requirements meetings and functional design document review meetings to understand requirements
- Working closely with Business Analysts and Business/Product Owners to clarify requirements
- Preparing test data and ensuring that the QA environment is ready for test case execution, including interfaces
- Performing defect management, including identification of QAT defects and remediation tracking by maintaining the traceability to user stories
- Working with the Product Owner to set defect severity and assist with backlog prioritization throughout the project
- Facilitating defect triage meetings, as necessary
- Working directly with Tech Leads and Developers to ensure understanding of defects are clear and understood
- Working with UI/UX Designers to assist with adding defects and providing input for usability, as necessary
- Working closely with QA Specialists on complex projects and on unique deliverables for projects
- Providing information and analysis for Go/No Go project decisions
Position Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience with Selenium
- 3-5 years of experience with Java
- 3 years of working experience within an Agile team environment
- Proven ability to manage and work across multiple projects at once
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field required
