Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other healthcare needs. As a Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments and provide transportation as needed
- Support individuals in participating in social activities and community outings
- Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with autism or behavioral challenges
- Provide childcare services for families in need of respite care
- Assist individuals with dementia in maintaining a safe and structured environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Skills:
- Experience in home care or healthcare settings is preferred
- Knowledge of working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide emotional support to individuals in need
- Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules, appointments, and documentation
