Our mission at A Million Dreamz is to offer quality, affordable child care 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, in an all-inclusive and kind environment while providing resources, referrals, advocacy, and other services to encourage and support the continuing development of healthy families.
The Lead teacher is responsible for all aspects of the care and education for the students in their classroom. In partnership with the Center Director, the Lead Teacher observes and assesses student's development, plans student's curriculum, designs the learning environment, and implements and supervises developmentally appropriate learning activities.
Duties
- Prepare lessons that meet educational requirements in an developmentally appropriate manner and teach in a manner that meets the needs for the ages and abilities of all participating students.
- Manage a busy classroom environment and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning.
- Help children meet educational goals and developmental milestones through personalized instruction and assistance.
- Collaborate with the Center Director, other teachers and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment.
- Works with the Center Director to address any behavioral or learning challenges with children, including but not limited to Extra Need plans and implementation.
- Provide daily activity information to parents and guardians via BrightWheel.
- Maintain professional and open communication with parents and guardians.
- Maintains professional and effective communication between all childcare staff members through BrightWheel documentation, in-classroom documentation and informal conversations.
- Work with diverse populations of children and adults.
- Remains flexible in assisting and accepting responsibility for other daily duties in the center.
- Adheres to all DCF regulations and company standards.
- Follows Staff Policies and Center Policies.
- Attends and participates in continuing education/ professional development, staff meetings, center events, and parent/teacher meetings.
Requirements
- Must meet all requirements of DCF 251 for a Lead Teacher.
- Current CPR, first aid, AHT, SIDS and Mandated Reporter certifications.
- Member of the Wisconsin Registry.
- Able to spend long hours standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting 40 pounds.
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Pass a background check.
- Possess an appropriate code of ethics for working with young children.
- Interpersonal skills with children and adults alike.
- Basic understanding of technology used and the aptitude to learn new technology skills.
