Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of diesel mechanics and demonstrate proficiency in various technical skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that our fleet remains operational and safe for use.
Duties
- Driving to repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and associated systems.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues with electrical systems, air brakes, and other components.
- Repair or replace shocks, struts, tires, and brakes as needed.
- Execute welding tasks to repair or fabricate parts.
- Service tractor-trailer units to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Operate forklifts safely while moving equipment or parts within the shop.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in automotive repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques and practices.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, air brake systems, and automotive diagnostics.
- Experience with shocks, struts, tire service, and brake repair is preferred.
- Ability to perform welding tasks effectively.
- Experience working with tractor-trailer units is a plus.
- Certification in diesel technology or related field is advantageous but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
