Job Overview
A Mother's Touch Movers® - Melbourne is seeking reliable and motivated Driver(s) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role requires operating 26ft box trucks and will involve heavy lifting. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Operate box trucks and other vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks and other equipment as necessary.
• Ensure the safe handling of products during transit, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
• Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.
• Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organization.

Qualifications/Driver Requirements

• 2 years of current commercial driving experience in a comparable class of vehicle
• Valid Driver’s License
• MUST be at least 21 years of age
• No major violations (DUIs, reckless driving, excessive speeding) and minimal minor infractions.
• Ability to lift and move heavy furniture (often 75 lbs.) throughout the day.
• Skilled in furniture handling, wrapping, loading/unloading techniques, and securing cargo.
• Ability to delegate tasks, ensure efficiency, and maintain team morale.
• Professional communication with clients, handling complaints, and providing a positive experience.
• Ability to think on your feet when challenges arise (e.g., tight doorways, unexpected obstacles).
• Familiarity with tools for disassembling/reassembling furniture.
• Keeping the move on schedule and efficiently coordinating logistics.

Disqualifications - You will NOT be eligible to drive with our company if any of the following apply:

• Any driver without a valid US driver’s license issued in the state in which they reside.
• Any driver with more than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, or more than 1 at-fault accident in the last year.
• Any driver with more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years or with more than 2 moving violations (including at fault accidents as stated above) in the current year.
• Any driver convicted of any of the following within the past 5 years:

o Homicide involving a vehicle

o Using vehicle to elude an officer

o Felony with a vehicle

o Hit and run

o Manslaughter with a vehicle

o False report to department

o Reckless operation / Racing

o Permitting an unlicensed driver to drive

o Any driver requiring a SR22 or FR19

o Driving while license and/or vehicle registration is suspended or unregistered

o DUI / OWI in a commercial or personal vehicle

• Any driver convicted of any of the following within the latest 3-year period:

o More than 25 mph above posted speed limit or any speed in excess of 84 miles per hour

o Any railroad crossing violation
