Full-Time Nanny in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Location: Cambridge, MA
General Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday: 9 am – 7 pm
- Fridays: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
- There is some flexibility to start at 10am on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
Ideal start date: As soon as they find the right candidate
Ideal Candidate:
- 3 years of nanny experience with a similar age group
- Devoted nanny who loves working with children and supporting their cognitive, physical, and emotional growth.
- Structured with the child’s sleeping and eating schedule.
- A strong communicator who works well independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- Actively engages with children and keeps the child stimulated.
- Encourages a healthy and active lifestyle for the child – keeps the child physically active and refrains from exposing the child to junk food.
- Fosters creativity, imagination, and interest in learning.
- Dedicated to the health, safety, and wellness of the child.
- Very attentive to child’s physical safety
- Seeking a long-term role with a family to build a lasting relationship.
Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities (reading, playing, music, crafts, etc)
- Inside play, outdoor exploration, and going on walks.
- Diaper changes and supporting overall healthy hygiene.
- Managing the child’s sleeping and eating schedules.
- Manage the child’s laundry.
- Reading to the child.
- Serving the child (premade) meals and healthy snacks.
- Take the child to activities (e.g. storytime, music class, museum outings, playdates)
- Encourage socialization.
- Keeping the child’s room and shared spaces clean and tidy.
- Occasional child-related errands (e.g. returning library books)
Requirements:
- 3 years of nanny experience with a similar age group.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- 2–3 strong, relevant references.
- Punctual and reliable
- Must be able to carry baby (up to 30 lbs) safely up 1-2 flights of stairs (baby’s bedroom is on 2nd floor and play space is on ground floor and basement)
Pluses but not required:
- Ability to drive if ever needed.
- Creativity: Skilled at devising age-appropriate engaging activities, including art projects, games, and outings.
Compensation: $30.00 per hour gross, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
