Live-in Newborn Care Specialist in Miami Beach
Loving, first-time parents (a same-sex male couple) seek a highly experienced and nurturing Newborn Care Specialist to support them as they welcome their first child. They seek a warm, supportive, and professional NCS with the potential to grow with them as their family evolves.
Start Date: The baby is due July 5, 2025, via surrogate. The parents would like the NCS to join them on the West Coast—where the birth will take place—during the week before the delivery (end of June).
Contract Length: Ideally, 6 months. Extension beyond 6 months is possible if mutually agreed upon. The family is open to a shorter term contract if the right NCS is unavailable for the full duration.
Schedule:
- 24/7 coverage to start
- After the first 4–6 weeks, 2-day breaks will be scheduled as mutually agreed upon
- Daily breaks of approximately 4–6 hours will be provided
Location:
- The position begins on the West Coast (where the baby will be born) for the first 1–2 weeks
- The remainder of the contract will take place in Miami Beach (primary residence)
- Occasional travel may be required
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Full newborn care, prioritizing the baby’s safety, hygiene, and overall well-being
- Guiding and educating parents on best care practices while supporting their preferences
- Establishing and maintaining a feeding and sleep schedule
- Diapering, clothing changes, and bathing
- Newborn laundry and maintaining a clean, sterile environment
- Bottle preparation, sterilization, and nursery organization
- Providing thoughtful product and supply suggestions
- Comforting and soothing the baby using gentle, proven techniques
- Tracking sleep, feeding, and behavioral patterns
Ideal Candidate: the ideal NCS will have 8 years of hands-on newborn care experience and be certified, warm, calm, and highly knowledgeable. Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to provide clear communication and structure are key.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of NCS or newborn care experience
- Certified Newborn Care Specialist
- Infant CPR and First Aid certified
- Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
- Comfortable working in a home with two cats
- Organized, proactive, and collaborative with strong communication skills
- Excellent references
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Approximately $40–$50 /hour for the right candidate.
