Drop In Center Specialist
Schedule: Tues-Fri 9a-6p
Job Description
To build positive relationships with young people in order to support them in meeting their needs and goals. Provide day to day support of young people through collaboration with Drop In Center/Street Outreach team with a foundation in trauma care and the Nurtured Heart Approach.
- Support, engage, empower, and aid youth in identifying their needs , strength and meeting their goals.
- Provide one-on-one individualized life skills development to youth as needed.
- Coordinate, monitor and participate in activities.
- Develop and support youth leadership opportunities.
- Provide crisis intervention, as necessary
- Facilitate opportunities for youth to be introduced to variety of services, supports, resources, and opportunities at the drop in center.
- Support the drop in center coordinator in coming up with weekly and monthly activities as well as ways to promote these activities.
- Assist with data collection for program evaluation.
EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Education Level/ Years of Related Work Experience:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Minimum of High School or GED
- 2 years' experience working with young people
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must be able to pass comprehensive criminal, sexual offender, MVD background checks.
- Valid driver’s license, and maintain state required automobile insurance minimums.
