REPORTS TO : Building, Grounds & Vehicle Supervisor
JOB STATUS : Non-Exempt
Job Summary : The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings, and vehicles in optimal working order. This includes performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring a safe and functional environment for all individuals in A New Leaf (ANL) programs.
Specific Job Responsibilities :
Grounds :
- Maintain all flower beds, grass, and trees at all facilities.
- Maintain greenhouses and garden centers in good repair, including winterizing and preparing them for spring use.
- Maintain all irrigation systems, ensuring they are in good working order and performing regular inspections, repairs and providing documentation.
Vehicles :
Perform regular maintenance on all vehicles, including but not limited to oil changes, tire maintenance, and mechanical inspections.Arrange for the transportation of vehicles to appropriate vendors for repairs (oil, tires, engine, etc.).Track and maintain documentation of all vehicle maintenance activities.Facilities :
Perform maintenance tasks in areas such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and other maintenance issues in and around the properties as needed. Contact Vendors for any outside facilities services.Collaborate with house managers, directors, or direct care staff to arrange any necessary repairs.Maintain greenhouses in good repair, including winterizing and preparing them for spring use.Maintain facilities in good repair through painting and proactive maintenance.Proactive maintenance and / or repair of the exterior / interior of facilities as needed.Other :

Demonstrated ability and expertise in maintenance and repair.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers.Strong administrative skills in Maintaining Facility / Vehicle records and reports.Ability to coordinate with subcontractors / vendors and suppliers.Requirements :
Essential Requirements :
Possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s licenseHave a reliable vehicle at all times and maintain automobile insurance coverage.Maintain eligibility to operate agency vehicles.Physical capabilities must include bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 60 pounds.The position requires a standard 40-hour work week, with additional rotating on-call shiftsAdhere to the policies and procedures of A New Leaf.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including completing required documentation and reports.Possession of strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a structured approach to their work.Special Requirements :
A criminal arrest check will be conducted through the OSBI; any person with a felony conviction will not be eligible for employment at A New Leaf (Section 1025.1 et seq. of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statutes, House Bill 1790). A background check will be requested from the OSBI. Any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea, or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver isobtained from the Office of the Director, Developmental Disabilities Service Division, Department of Human Services, or their designees, and the Board of Trustees of A New Leaf approves such waiver.
A Community Services Registry check (House Bill 1790) will be conducted through the Developmental Disabilities Services Division, Department of Human Services, and any person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either party is free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.Qualifications :
Minimum age : 21 years old.Knowledge and skills of Facilities / Vehicle Maintenance.Expressed desire to work with persons with developmental disabilities.Physical ability to conduct training involving manual labor.Good oral and written communication skills.Final hiring is pending an OSBI background check, a clean driving record, a Community Services Registry check, and pre-employment screening.This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
