Maintenance Director
The Maintenance Director demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team. Ensures the safe, efficient and effective operations of all building systems. Supervises the Maintenance Assistant. Coordinates and monitors the activities of outside vendors, service and repairmen to insure the health and safety of residents, staff and visitors. Advises appropriate personnel of any potential interruptions or shutdowns. Ensures the compliance with facility policies regarding cleanliness, infection control, safety, security, hazardous communication program and fire and disaster plans. The Maintenance Director maintains documentation including routine and preventive maintenance schedules, fire alarm and sprinkler systems testing, generator testing and other documentation in compliance with all local, state and federal law. The Maintenance Director is responsible for overall maintenance and repair of the facility’s physical plant, equipment and grounds and its various systems including plumbing, electrical and structural. Plans work schedules for all assigned personnel. Attends department head meetings. Monitors supplies to ensure that adequate levels are maintained and stays with budgetary guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to read and write in English, write and follow oral instructions in English, as well as understand labels and safety instructions and other department policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform, and working knowledge of, routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry grounds keeping tasks including painting, wallpapering, and shoveling snow.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items weighing approximately 50-75 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a long term care facility
- Prior experience supervising others
