POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the janitorial care and maintenance of the church facilities, grounds, and equipment. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical and building equipment, including heating and air conditioning. Develops and implements cleaning and maintenance plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
The Custodian will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Keep the building clean, attractive and well‐maintained, inside and out Sweeping, mopping, buffing, cleaning and waxing floors according to schedule.
Dusting furniture and equipment; washing walls and windows and vacuuming carpets as scheduled.
Maintaining clean restrooms: Replenishing tissue and towels, Emptying waste cans.
Requesting cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment as needed.
Operating and maintaining proper heating and cooling equipment according to schedule and instructions.
Preparing baptistry for use as directed and cleaning following use. * Open and close building daily as scheduled.
Working with volunteers when available, but taking primary responsibility to move furniture, set up tables and chairs for meals, banquets, and other similar occasions; set up auditorium and classroom areas for regular activities.
Setting up for and cleaning up after weddings, funerals and other social, community and church events as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Custodial experience or training required.
Understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church.
Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services to the church.
An active member supporting the vision and values of APOC Ministry.
Able to efficiently multitask, maintaining control over many projects simultaneously.
Cooperative team member who respects organizational policies and procedures.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED SKILLS
Some exposure to MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.09 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
