DSP/Caregiver PRN

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong commitment to fostering a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, encouraging social interaction and community involvement.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, promoting hygiene and comfort.
• Support clients in engaging in recreational activities that enhance their physical and mental health.
• Document client progress and any changes in behavior or condition, communicating effectively with the care team.
• Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of clients at all times.
• Collaborate with family members, healthcare professionals, and social workers to coordinate care effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caregiving, nursing home settings, or memory care is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home community care settings is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to cook nutritious meals that cater to individual dietary needs.
• A background in social work or related fields can be beneficial but is not required.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and committed to providing high-quality care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.93 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
