Job description
DUTIES
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements
- Use various hand tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to measure and mark materials for cutting and shaping
- Operate welding equipment to join metal components according to specifications
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Use lifting equipment to move heavy materials or finished products
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Proven experience as a fabricator/welder or similar role
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Familiarity with using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Ability to operate a press brake machine for bending metal components
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes
- Knowledge of pipe threading is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
