In this highly visible role, you’ll report directly to our CFO and lead a team of talented managers across Accounting, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Loss Control Services. Your leadership will drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic financial guidance that supports our mission to connect talent with opportunity.

 

Compensation: $120k-$155k

Schedule: Remote/Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote), Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM 

 

How You’ll Do It  

The primary responsibilities of the Controller will be to provide strategic financial leadership and oversight across the Accounting, A/R, A/P, and Loss Control Services teams, driving operational excellence and alignment with business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures ensuring compliances with IFRS
  • Manage annual financial audit and act as liaison between external auditor and company
  • Manage outsourced functions
  • Oversee the operations of the shared accounting department (Accounting, AP, AR) including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of loss control policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain analytics relating to the company's worker's comp experience
  • Oversee the operations of the Loss Control Services department to monitor overall company compliance with applicable policies including Federal and State regulations
  • Annual package policy audits and renewals
  • All other duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring 

This is an experienced hire role, and you’ll need to bring 10 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.

Here’s what else we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, MS Dynamics (Great Plains), Management Reporter, Power BI, Bullhorn, Greenshades, Microsoft Office, and SAP (BFC consolidation software)
  • Experience leading multi-department financial operations, including accounting, receivables, payables, and risk management.
  • Ability to think big-picture while also diving into the details when needed.
  • Passion for improving processes, maximizing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across financial operations.
  • Strong ability to partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve company-wide financial goals.
  • Skilled in setting measurable objectives and achieving tangible financial outcomes that impact the overall success of the business.

Physical Requirements: To successfully perform the duties of this job, the associate is required to have the ability and skills sufficient to interact with branch personnel, corporate personnel, and temporary employees in person, via phone, and via email. The associate must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand/eye coordination, arm/hand/finger dexterity including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment, read, and write the application information. The staff associate is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
